"If you have a question for me, enter this room. It exists just for us. A place for you to come to ask me whatever you wish. A chance for us to get closer. Share your thoughts, tell me your story, ask me your questions.  They will be answered."

hi, dear Candice!

My name is Svetlana Hineva,18 years old, from Bulgaria.
I like "Blackmore's Night" from a lot of time.Your music,your voice...they are really so beautiful...so romantic...:)
And you are so pretty singer...really.
I have a dream-someday i want to be a singer-because the music..the singing are my life...really...someday,..i hope..my dreams will come true...
And i hope..someday i'll singing the same music-like "Blackmore's Night"-i mean-romantic...;)

My question for you:is it difficult to stay a really good singer-alone or in a band-because there are so many people-girls,boys really talanted,but..the life is so hard...and the dreams so unbelievable...and for me too-i want to stay a really good singer, with audience...with my own songs...but..sometimes i don't know how...i just don't have any idea...it doesn't matter how long will take...how pain...how privations...for me-but i want it with all my heart, and sometimes i would do anything for this dream...but...i just try and try...and nothing...But still i hope...in this my "unbelievable" dream.I love the singing, the melody, the music...this is something really beautiful...
And one other my dream-to be a singer in "Blackmore's Night",with you, with Richie...and with the other great people there...but...again-dream...

best wishes
love
Svetlana

Dear Svetlana,
Never give up your dream...not for anyone or anything. Dreams are what keep us alive. This is a hard business but what you get in return in your soul is priceless. If you love something enough, the difficult uphill battle is worth the climb. Things that come easy are never really the things that move you so deeply.
Create your songs, sing out loud, wear your passion proudly, no one can take it away from you ...unless you let them. Don't give up... Whether you have an audience of 1 or 1,000...sing because you believe in your dream. The birds sing only to the sky - just because they love to sing... whether anyone is listening or not.
Music is an amazing escape, and a wonderful dream to have....
Let it live on!!
Love and light,
Candice

hi candice,
Back in October my wife and I came to your concert at the Dome in Brighton.
Having previously bought 2 of your CD's Under a Violet Moon and Fires at Midnight amd liked them a lot.
Needless to say we thoroughly enjoyed the concert and didn't want it to end. We took the opportunity of buying 3 more of your CD's while we were there, these were Shadows of the Moon, Ghost of a Rose and Village Lanterne.
Our music tastes are many and varied. It's very much the case of if we hear it and like it we buy it.
UnfortunatelyI don't buy the DVD's as I am totally blind and as you can imagine get all my enjoyment by just listening to the music and drifting off to all soughts of different places.
Many years ago when I had sight, I was in a local pop group and played drums and we had a lot of fun in those days.
However, the reasons for writing apart to let you know how much we enjoy the music, is to ask you about a number you did at the Brighton Gig, which was about a Christmas tree and I think gifts around it. I recently bought the Winter Carol CD and expected to find it on there but of course it wasn't. Please could you tell me if it is on a CD and if so which one.

David & Sheila Ide Brighton U.K

Hello David and Sheila,
Thank you for your sweet words and I am so glad to hear that you are enjoying the music so much. Actually, as I'm sure that you noticed when hearing us perform live, many of the songs we have done have changed over the years- different arrangements, different instrumentation, even my voice has changed a bit in the past 11 years! And of course Ritchie never plays the same songs the same way twice. A live performance is usually so charged with energy that you get and give to and from the audience that it is hard to duplicate that on cd. So, you may enjoy the audio of the dvds just because they are always a bit different than the recorded version. Once we step on stage, our world changes.
The song you are referring to isn't actually on any of our cds....yet! It is called First of May and was originally done by the Bee Gees but I first heard it done in concert by Sarah Brightman and fell in love with it.
Someday, we'll record it... but right now we're enjoying the magic we get while doing it in a live stage environment.

So glad you liked it!
Love and light,
Candice

Dear candice

Me and a friend of mine have just started to listen to yours and ritchie's music and we think it is absolutely fantastic. myself have brought both dvds and three of your albums hope to collect the whole collection. My question is ' Blackmores night touring the uk again this year because we missed out last year.

hope you and ritchie are keeping well. all the best for many years to come to the both of you in what ever you do.

p.s do you know which album ariel is from?

Dear Wayne,
Thanks for your support and kind words. We are hoping to get back to the UK this year, in support of our latest cd- the Secret Voyage. If the dates don't come through for 2008, we will try again next year. We do love coming back to Ritchie's home country. England is the most magical place in the world.
Ariel was recorded by Rainbow for the cd Stranger In Us All, done with a different singer and in a slightly different way. We have never recorded it as Blackmore's Night, but it can be found on our DVD Paris Moon.
Enjoy,

Hi Candice,
I am a new fan of your's and Blackmore's Night. Oh, how I wish I could say that I have been listening to your wonderful music for years....but sadly just very recently. So I do have a lot of catching up to do. I really love your music. When I listen to BN, I feel my spirit lift and soar and I feel so free.
I absolutely love your clothes! Could you tell me where you get some of your outfits? Do they mostly come from Gypsy Moon, or are there some other shops that have the look? I am currently planning for two outfits for myself and would really appreciate your help!
Thanks so very much!
Peace and love...

Hi Toni,
Welcome to our world! Glad you're a new family member for our musical family. Actually I do know the owner of Gypsy Moon through the internet. She has loaned me clothes on a couple of occasions for both of my photo sessions that were featured in Faerie Magazine. Her clothes are beautiful. But for my own stage outfits I just take a bit from here and there as I go through different stores and Renaissance Faires and make my own style outfits. I feel they have more individuality that way.
My skirts come from Silk Cloque; my tops I bought at a local clothing store here; my corsets I got at a gothic shop and now Fashions In Time produces them when I need different colors. Whatever you are planning on creating or wearing , make sure it reflects you and your own beautiful individual gypsy spirit.
Much love,
Candice

Dear Candice,

First of all, let me express my utmost delight about the music You and Ritchie make. Me and my daughter (15) just love it !

Second, great news is you are coming to Poland ! We are waiting ! I will have a Robin Hood green costume prepared especially for the show !

My question is about Ritchie. I noticed that he smiles very rarely. He looks is so serious deep in his thoughts. How can we make him smile during a concert ? maybe there is a way ?

Thank you for everything, have a safe journey to Europe and back to the States. Keep on creating great sounds and fine lyrics, God bless you.

Marek Tumiłowicz
Warsaw, Poland

Hello Marek,

What a great time we had at Plock in Poland! Such an amazing audience, great festivities, great town. It is true that Ritchie smiles rarely- which is what makes his rare smiles all the more special when you get them. You know that they are always genuine and he has to really be enjoying himself to see that glimpse of a momentary smile.

But I do remember a few moments on stage in Plock where I believe you saw what you were looking for. If he sees you enjoying yourself at the show, he enjoys himself all the more.

Love to you and your daughter,
Candice
