Hello Candice,
My name is Natalia. I'm from Russia, Moscow.
I have been enjoing your music since it appeared in Russia.
I even didn't know who was Ritchy Blackmore! Once I just
heard your singing at music shop, and from that moment I'm
your fan!!!! I have found all your CDs and learnt the texts
of some songs. When I listen to "Now and then"
the memories overfull me. "Under a Violet moon"
makes me move, dance and sing. "Hanging tree"
makes very strong impression and I feel all the pain and
sorrow. "Spanish nights" blow me somewhere like
with the wind. I can say that your singing is full of magic
and love. In April I have been on your concert and I was
so imagined! The performance was a great success! On your
site I've read the information about your own CD but
it made me very sad because I think we won't see it in Moscow
soon. But
I'll be waiting for this! I hope that my message will
reach for you and I'm looking forward for
your reply.
Truly yours,
Natalia
Hello
Natalia,
Wonderful
news! We are coming back to Moscow and doing 2 dates there
at the Moscow-Youth Palace Theater on
October
10 & 11, 2003. For more information you can check
http://www.blackmoresnight.com/tour_info.html I
do hope that you will come to the show and see the new songs.
I hope they hold the same magic for you as the others. Thank
you for those beautiful words...and for understanding...
I have had to put work on my CD on hold for a while. As
you know, Blackmore's Night is my first priority and we
have had so many great opportunities this year that the
time has simpply disappeared before my eyes. I thought I
would have more of a chance to get into the studio
to experiment on my own songs, but with Ghost of a Rose
being recorded, the interviews and touring it was just not
to be for this moment. And with the way that Ghost of a
Rose has come out and the reaction it has gotten, just being
able to experience that...I wouldn't have it any other way.
So, perhaps next year I will go into the studio and breathe
some life ino a few more songs that sit, dusty on the shelves,
right now... And I will come in to Moscow on the 10th and
11th and sing for you! See you then...
Love,
Candice

Hello, Candice!
I love your music very much, its so magic, so mystic.
Please, tell me, do your love such music or do you listen
music of different schools?
And are you English? Do you live in England? At last,
why don`t you come to Russia? We will be glad to see you
in Russia! Welcome!
Thanks.
Best regards
Inessa.
Hello
Inessa,
I am
not English, actually I am American. I live on an island
off of New York. Where I live the sea is behind my home,
the sunsets over the swans on the water and there is a forest
next to my house so it is easy for me to get lost in the
magic and mystery of nature. I couldn't live any other way.
I love music that has a strong sense of mystery , although
it is getting harder to find these days...I think the days
that we need it most. I think that these are the days that
we need to believe, to feel and have passion, to appreciate
what is around us. Maybe if we do, others will do the same.
Sometimes, I listen to modern music, but it has been a very
long time sinc I bought a CD of modern music. Today I was
listening to a Swedish band called One More Time, that is
amazing, but I don't think that they are around anymore.
You would like their music. Eden by Sarah Brightman is another
favorite. I like listening to ethereal voices and women
who celebrate being a woman and enjoy the connetion to the
moon. Maggie Reilly on Moonlight Shadow or Back To France
is another. And, by the way, we are coming back to Russia!
See the last email I answered for details!
See you then,
Love
and light,
Candice
I really enjoy all the Blackmore's Night CDs that have been
released in America so far. I would not normally listen
to that style of music but I find it outstanding.
As I type this email, I am listening Shadow Of The Moon.
I think your voice sounds a lot like Stevie Nicks.
Are you influenced by her?
Thanks,
Kevin McMahon
Hi Kevin,
Thank
you- I am glad you gave us a chance to try to win you over...
I am very influenced by Stevie Nicks, Actually, if you were
at the Fleetwood Mac show at Jones Beach on Sept 21st you
would have seen me there, singing along to every word of
every song! I think that it is the whole presence and mystical
charm that she has. It is very intense. I love the fact
that her subject matter is often other worldly or magical.
Rhiannon, Storm, Gypsy, Sisters of the Moon... all amazing.
But there are a lot of other songs that people may not have
heard that are just as moving. I love the fact that in all
the years of her being a singer, she has never followed
anyone else's fashion. She's been through the 1970's, 80's,
90's and today and still been true to what she is. Even
in the 80's when other female singers were donning leather
pants, big hair and crawling across the stage- she always
kept her femininity. Long skirts, a sense of mystery and
a gypsy's heart. I often get compared to her, now, but it's
probably just that we both wear long skirts and have long
blonde hair... but she has been an influence on my...certainly...
Much
love,
Candice

Dear: Candice
I just want to let you know that your
music is a gift, my name is Jamie Scott and i am 24
yrs old and at times life throws us curves like when i was
12 my dad was diagnosed with cancer and it was like i had
no where to turn and then i turned to music and it
helped me get on with life and my dad is still
with us thank God but it was not until this year that I
realized that your songs help and that was when I found
out that my older brother Johnny has cancer and I just found
out that I have diabetes and I was about to breakdown and
I put one of your CDs in and inside I felt that I can beat
this and so I just want to thank you for your music.
And if you know it or not your music helps people in many
different ways.
Dear
Jamie,
That
means everything to me...more than words could ever express...I
am so sorry to hear of your troubles. Please stay
strong and allow music to take you away an appreciate the
good. It will help you to deal with the hard times. My father,
too , was diagnosed with cancer when I was very young and
it was a very difficult struggle. He overcame it and won...and
brings joy to each of my days. It is possible to win. Again,
please stay strong and know that you are not alone...
Much
love and light surround you,
Candice
I maybe one of a few
thousand people writing into you to ask you questions
and possibly one of the unlucky ones who won't be able
to recieve a reply.
But anyway will the
band be playing gigs up in Yorkshire, England over the
next year sometime because I'd like to see what you are
like?
and especially
see Ritchie Blackmore.
I'm a 17 year old
who should be listening to modern music mainly (according
to my friends because they think old music is rubbish) but I'd
rather hear a good vocal instead of Marilyn Manson destroying
his.
I've been playing
the guitar for 2 years and mainly I'm inspired by Ritchie
because he is such a great guy and such an inspiration
to many guitarists aswell.
Anyway
your a 'bonny lass' as us people from Yorkshire
say! hope to recieve a reply.
p.s are you married
to Ritchie if i'm not being rude?
yours
Ritchie
Hello
Ritchie,
Good
for you...it's great to see someone who chooses their
own path in life rather than following the brainwashing
of what the media tells you to listen to. But I'm sure you're
aware of that already! It's increible how many people are
force fed musical tastes these days. And that mentality
is everywhere...fashion, music, media, television...What
ever happened to individualism? Braving your own path? Ah
well...But, I can tell you are one of the rare breed
of people not afraid to be an individual ...Congratulations!
You are amongst the same type of breed here. We will be
playing England in November. Buxton, Workington, Birmingham,
Redding, Cheltenham and Exeter. The tour dates are on
www.blackmoresnight.com
and the ticket info is on there as well. I do hope you'll
come down to one of the shows. Seeing Ritchie in action
is an inspiration to us all. I swear I think he bridges
this world to another realm through his playing , sometimes.
So you have to come see for yourself.
Oh,
that's not a rude question...no Ritchie and I are not married.
But we have been together since 1989. Besides, you have
to expect that if you are going to be with the Prince of
Darkness, you'll be living in sin...right? ;)
Love,
Candice
