Between Us

October 2006

"If you have a question for me, enter this room. It exists just for us. A place for you to come to ask me whatever you wish. A chance for us to get closer. Share your thoughts, tell me your story, ask me your questions.  They will be answered."

Is Richie hard to cooperate with?

I am from Sweden so i can´t english so well.

Superb music you made.

Will you come to Sweden for concert anytime?

In Sala we have a small rockclub called Rockland.

You should play there.

Terrific public.

Wish you well.

Torbjörn

Hello Torbjorn,
Ritchie, like any other artist or real musician, is very passionate about his music. He wants to be able to open up and emote and transport you, as well as himself, to another realm. If he feels that someone is getting in the way of him doing this, yes, he can get very angry. But, he is not hard to cooperate with as long as you keep the open forum of communication and respect that he puts his heart, soul and mind into his music. He has done so for a very long time and deserves at least that... He is a true artistic genuis... Your English is very good! Thank you for your compliments... Hopefully we will be in Sweden again next year. Though we usually play theaters, like the Circus in Stockholm when we go there.

Thanks for your questions...
Love and light,
Candice

Hi Candice,

Myself, my wife and another couple attended this concert after coming all the way from Australia.

What a fantastic time we had !!.
We managed to get front row seats dressed in our garb.

Ritchie made a fuss of me, as he must have found out about all the dramas I had getting my tickets

on the day of the concert. I had lost contact with Susanne and was very panicky.

The security people were understanding but firm with me when I turned up at the castle searching for her.

(she had been held up with commitments and had to drive a long way to get there)

Ritchie played Greensleeves when I requested it and my choice of Diamonds and Rust, shook my hand,

I drank some of his beer and was lucky enough to get a plectrum also.

Your vocals were perfect as usual and my friends said the same as I did last year, that when you speak to

the audience and smile at people, we all feel like you are talking to us individually.

My one question is where was Tudor Rose?

Was she ill or is she not part of the band anymore? We really missed her violin playing!!

Dave Abbott

Hello Dave,

Wow - what a long journey to see a concert! I am honored that you came all that way...Thank you.

I can honestly say Ritchie didn't know about what you had endured... You must have just been giving out a vibe that said 'I need a beer'! I'm glad he was so accomodating to you...

Ah, yes, Tudor Rose... Unfortunately, she had some family problems that she had to attend to. We will continue to play without her for a while. You know, the show must go on... And we wish her all the best for the future and for her healing...

Thanks for your question!

Love and light,
Candice

Hi my sweet Candice,

I am from Greece and I am so happy that I saw you in concert in Florence
September 15! Thank you for giving us so much bliss with your music, your
voice and your beautiful smile! I am glad I had the chance to give you my
present and my letter; I am Elizabeth, your elf-sister, remember? I hope you
liked the seashells too......

You are a true inspiration to me and the magic of your soul really, really
lights the universe...

Thank you for your light and I hope you like my poem.

Yours in the realm of magic and mystery,

Elizabeth

Dearest Elizabeth,

Of course I remember! What a wonderful gift...hownice to be reminded of the magic of the oceans, as where my home is...while on tour. And your letter was truly touching and beautiful. Thank you elf sister!

Your poem is incredibly beautiful. You have captured the mystery of the seas, the night and the forests, and so much more... I feel as if I live in your poem... Thank you...

Much love, sister...till we meet again! Keep dancing in the mists...

Love and light,
Candice

In dark nights or crazy days, your divine voice cleans my soul of bad feelings and thoughts. Your songs feed my strange thirst for the North wonders and carry me away from the ordinary events that i write about every day in the local newspaper i work for. The other day i saw you in a tv video. You look and move in perfect harmony with your voice. I wanted to see more of you but the video was gone. I tried to find some video concerts here in Bacau Romania but i couldn't. What can i do? Thank you for listening to me! Have a beautiful day! With admiration, Allan.

Hello Allan,

What a beautiful poetic writer you are... You must continue writing in this way for your spirit...You have a gift.

I wonder what video it was that they were playing in Romania, a place that I have wanted to go to for so long...

Perhaps it was from the DVD? Castles and Dreams is our double DVD and you can find that available at Amazon, if not at your dvd stores locally. There are a few other vhs tapes out there, they are available on the merchandise page at www.blackmoresnight.com and you can get them in PAL to see on your systems in Romania.

Then again, if you'd like to see some shorter videos, you can always go to the "Senses" section of this website and click on "Sights" or try youtube.com and type in "Candice Night" or "Blackmore's Night". Try here.

But keep in mind that whoever is playing Ritchie's instrumentals, where you can only see his hands, is not Ritchie! We don't know who it is...but if you can't see his face, it isn't him...

Anyway, I do hope you enjoy and keep dreaming and writing what makes you happy...

Hope to see you in Romania,
Candice

Dear Candice,

This is Levent from Turkey,

Thank you very much for the lovely music you make. I have been your fan for nearly 10 years now. Before that I have been a fan of Deep Purple and Rainbow as well.

My wife left me some 7 months ago after a 10 years of happy marriage and we are now divorced. I'm trying to grab the edge of life with the help of your music and your beautiful face (lucky Richie ! ). I tried to find a picture of your face to make it wallpaper on my pc. but all the pictures are very small. You will make me very happy if you can send me a big picture of your beautiful face.

You say you met him in 1989, where have you been until the first Blackmore's night album ?

Thank you very much again, don't ever stop making music. You have a responsibility now for your fans.

Hello Levent,

I am sorry to hear of your parting with your wife after 10 happy years. But I suppose there are some people who don't even have 10 happy years...at least you have wonderful memories and many paths before you to choose for new adventures and love. You are sweet to ask for a picture. A wonderful fan of ours made a screen saver with pictures on it of me if you'd like to download it. It is located on http://candicenight.com/senses_sights.htm Just scroll to the bottom till you see "screensaver". Then it is all yours!

Yes, I met Ritchie in November 1989, after seeing him in concert a few months earlier playing with Guns and Roses and Aerosmith. I was with him as he recorded Slaves and Masters, though I didn't go on that tour with him. It was very early in our relationship. But I sang on the tribut album Twang when he recorded his version of the Shadow's Apache song. Then in 1993 I went on tour with him and sang some back up vocals for Deep Purple. In 1995 I co wrote some songs on his Stranger In Us All album with Rainbow as well as doing background singing on the cd as well as the tour. And from 1997 till now...you know the story. We started Blackmore's Night in 1997 and continue to write, record and brave the unknown path the future lays before us.

Love and light,
Candice
